Action Printing’s Green Initiative

The paper and printing industry ranks fourth among manufacturers in the amount of energy used and the pulp and paper industry is the third largest industrial polluter of air, water and land in both Canada and the United States.

So this is why we’re very conscious about the choices we make in the production of our products and our day-to-day office activities.

We’re very careful in our energy usage. We choose energy-efficient equipment and we’ve also installed a monitor that helps us keep close tabs on our electricity usage. It’s helped us to reduce our overall energy use significantly. Our office communication is now almost entirely digital including much of our pre-press process.

Rather than picking the cheapest paper on the market, we pay extra for paper from responsible suppliers who sell sustainable paper by reforesting. After all, you often make the strongest statement of your beliefs with your wallet.

All of our paper we use in the shop is at least 10% recycled if not more. Plus, we gather every scrap of leftover paper in-shop for recycling.

We send back what’s left of our ink and toner after we’re done with it to the manufacturers where it is recycled. We’re also very careful with chemicals during production and ensure they’re are disposed of properly.

We’re proud we can do our part for the environment and in turn, our future.
